Especially in times when the HR department needs to focus intensively on its core competencies like payroll processing, employee concerns, and routine tasks often take a back seat. This can disrupt workflows and leave everyone involved dissatisfied. It’s clear that this can be avoided by replacing these processes with process automations and self-services. Many companies are already well-equipped in this regard. However, some have realized during the current situation, with a significant portion of the workforce working from home, which processes are still paper-based and not automated.
The implementation of complex processes/workflows involving multiple stages, approvals, and postings in SAP HCM infotypes is also a requirement we have discussed with several clients. To make it possible to introduce digitized HR processes even more flexibly in the future, and to offer it in a mobile-friendly SAP Fiori format, we have developed a new add-on solution.
Our latest add-on solution is the scdsoft Process Engine
With this add-on solution, we enable the fast and easy handling of customer-specific HR processes within SAP Fiori interfaces. We’ve developed a basic framework that can be tailored to various customer process requirements.
The process can be initiated by an employee, a manager, or HR, depending on the specific process. The underlying processing and approval chain can be customized for each process. We can also integrate works councils where needed. At the end of a process, notifications are sent to involved parties, and data can be recorded in the appropriate SAP HCM infotype.
The potential use cases are diverse, ranging from initiating bonus payments, promoting/transferring employees, or extending employment contracts, to employees requesting sabbaticals.
